Policy Type Codes
From AUwiki
Each policy type on TAM must have a unique alpha-numeric code to identify it. This can be up to 4 characters long.
Here are some suggestions:
- try and make the code resemble the class of insurance as far as possible, for example MOTO = Motor, WC = Workmen's Comp, etc.
- group codes together so that similar types appear in the drop-down list together - this makes it easier for CSRs. For example, prefix all Liability classes with LI - LIML = Management Liability; LIPR = Professional Indemnity (E&O) etc.
Policy Type codes can be changed using the Rename Utility.
Remember that deleting codes will affect all your history data, not just current and future records.
